Mobile IT Bus

Fun, Friendly and Free!

Our mobile IT Bus tours around the county of Torfaen, teaching computing skills to people in the area. The computer bus makes 10 stops a week keeping to a pre-arranged timetable. The bus is a very relaxed way of learning and it's FREE.

On the mobile IT bus are:

8 state of the art computers
2 printers
a scanner
a digital camera
2 friendly IT bus tutors

The bus also has a wireless Internet Connection which is available at certain stops.

Students range from complete beginners who have never turned on a computer before to the more experienced. So come along and have some fun and learn a new skill at the same time. Classes are very informal, relaxed and lots of fun. See our new timetable for the summer. What classes are available?

Many short course are available to students:

OCN beginners' courses such as Introduction to computers, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Database, Internet and much more.
CLAIT modules. 10 different modules are now availabe
CLAIT PLUS
ECDL

What you can learn for fun?

You don't need to sit an exam or follow a course. You can just hop on and have some fun with IT. Below are some examples of what you can do:

We have plenty of CD ROMs for you to make cards, invitations, calenders or even printing a logo on a T-shirt.
If you are learning to drive come and practice for the theory test using an up to date disc to test your knowledge.
Bring along a photo and see what you can do with it; add a frame, change the size, remove objects and change the colours
Sort out your household budget with a spreadsheet or investigate the benefits of a database
Got and friends and family abroad? At our Internet stops you can email them. You can even use our scanner to scan in photos which you can email to them
