6 - Page Titles
Title Tag <TITLE>
The Title should identify your site and indicate what it is about.
It appears in the blue bar at the very top of your Browser i.e.
Internet Explorer. An example of a page title in an Internet Explorer
browser is shown in Fig 1.

Fig 1
In some Search Engines the page title also appears in the list of
results or “hits”.
See fig 2.

Fig 2
What should my page title include?
It should include your top keyword or keyword phrase. Don’t
just call it “Home page” or “Page2” in your
title tag as no-one will use those words when searching for your
site. For example a website for Griffithstown Male Voice Choir detailing
forthcoming concerts could use “Griffithstown Male Voice Choir
– Concerts” as a page title.
Any keywords used in the Title should also be repeated in the content
of that page to increase relevancy. Try to keep the <TITLE>
shorter than 14/15 words.
